New method for determination of organometallic complexes

Our analytical laboratory has implemented new method for determination of organometallic complexes (i.e. alkyl mercury) by cation chromatography, coupled to ICP-MS detection. This group of substances is represented for example by Trimerosal, used as fungicide or fungistatic agent. Such a substances can be limited for example in vaccines or contact lens solutions. Determination of crack bridging properties

Laboratory of building materials has introduced new test device for test according to EN 1062-7 for “Determination of crack bridging properties”. Food contact materials - Mineral oils MOSH and MOAH determination in packaging:

With respect to the clients requests the new method was developed in ITC laboratories - Mineral oils MOSH and MOAH determination in packaging. Aromatic mineral oils (MOAH) are considered by EFSA as potentially carcinogenic and are given high attention now. Limit values for migration were published on a national basis by German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR). nanotechnology - the analytical laboratory of ITC engage in cooperation with the Technical University of Dresden


The analytical laboratory of ITC engage in cooperation with the Technical University of Dresden in the project " nanotechnology – guidance on detection and identification of nano-objects in complex matrixes", which is demanded by the French Bureau of Standards (Association Francaise de Normalisation).

The aim of this theoretical work is charting of available, missing and emerging techniques for measuring the presence of nano-particles in difficult matrixes combined with their identification. The final document will be used for standardization purpose and give guidance for measurements at the nano-scale.

The analytical laboratory at ITC has also techniques for measuring of nanoparticle dimensions with electron microscopy and by use of single-particle ICP-MS the laboratory is able to count and size nanoparticles. In this area we have already realized commercial contracts for dimensional measurement and counting distribution of nanoparticles in different matrices.
